Responsibilities
- Supporting the planning and implementation of District programs and policies, including drafting clear and concise documents.
- Researching best practices and trends.
- Liaising with other organizations or governments to obtain information.
- Tasks such as file organization, database entry and meeting support.
Skill Set
- Experience drafting well-written and clear documents for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work independently and with a variety of teams to complete work assignments, achieve common goals and contribute towards a positive work environment.
- At ease liaising with other agencies, staff, governments, and the public to obtain, exchange, coordinate or confirm information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong aptitude to learn new software. Must be comfortable with Microsoft Word and comfortable or willing to learn Excel, PowerPoint and other software as required.
- Familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing northern Saskatchewan communities.
- An interest in northern community planning is a definite asset.
Education
- Has, or is working towards, a degree or diploma related to community planning, economic development, recreation, tourism, or other related education.
Other Requirements
- Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and adhere to the District’s Employee Code of Conduct.
- Class 5 driver’s license is preferred.
Hours of Work & Compensation
- Hours of work: 24-40 hrs./week, M-F 8:00-5:00. Hours of work can be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.
- Wage: $24-$31/hr.
- Benefits: a set wage supplement to cover self-directed health, dental, group life insurance and pension.
