Property Ownership, Lot Dimensions, and Survey Pin Location

This page describes how to find ownership and dimension information for your property.

OWNERSHIP AND PROPERTY INFORMATION ACCESS:
Legal property ownership, lot dimensions, and the survey plan for your property is maintained on the land titles website,
Information Services Corporation (ISC). Northern Municipal Services does not maintain or distribute this information.

The following sections below provide step-by-step instructions on how to access this information on the ISC website.

SURVEY PIN LOCATIONS:
Property boundary markers, often called survey pins, are metal rods placed in the ground by licensed surveyors. These markers define the legal boundaries of a property, distinguishing your land from your neighbour’s or municipal property.

You may be able to locate your property pins by visual inspection or by using a metal detector. If you need to reestablish pin locations for legal purposes, you must hire a professional land surveyor; personal GPS devices and phone GPS are not legal surveys. A list of professional land survey companies is found on the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association website.

LOT DIMENSION IMAGE:
Follow the steps below to access an image of your lot with dimensions on ISC:

Step 1: Create a free ISC account (if you don’t have one already). The ISC website is not mobile friendly. Using a laptop/desktop is recommended.

Step 2: Search for your property using the “Quick Search” option on the lefthand menu:
  • From the dropdown menu choose “Land Description”.
  • Choose “Typical Urban” and type in your lot, block and plan number (see next section below if you don’t know this information)
  • Click “Search”.

Step 3: After clicking the “Search” button, a property information window appears. Click on the "Parcel Picture" icon (eyeball) and the lot area and dimensions will be displayed.

Please note: As noted at the bottom of the Parcel Picture, the Parcel Picture cannot to be used for legal purposes. You can access the legal plan of survey for your property for an additional fee on the ISC website.

If you don’t know your lot, block and plan number, or want to see a list of properties you own, use the “Quick Search” option on the lefthand menu:
  • From the dropdown menu choose “Search by: Owner Name”, type in your name and then click the "Search" button.
  • Click on the “Notepad” icon next to your name and the properties you own will appear with lot, block and plan information.
