Planning Documents

Community Highlights (2012): The Saskatchewan Ministry of First Nations and Metis Relations, with help of the Ministry of the Economy conducted a snapshot in 2012 of the key components of the community, including: local government, demographics, economic environment, training and education, infrastructure, housing, emergency services, recreational opportunities, and the community's distance from larger centres.

Basic Planning Statement (1985): Since the Northern Village of Denare Beach has not yet completed their Official Community Plan through the Planning for Growth program, the Basic Planning Statement that was completed back in 1985 is still in effect.  This document was approved by the Community Planning Branch and outlined the direction of development within the community at that time.

Zoning Bylaw (1985): Again due to  Denare Beach not yet completing their Official Community Plan and thereby adopting a new set of Zoning Bylaws, this Zoning Bylaw created in 1985 outlines the implementation standards that are still in effect within the municipality.

Planning Study Review (1984): Prior to the development of the Basic Planning Statements, the Northern Village of Denare Beach hired DS-LEA Associates Ltd., to review the existing situation within the municipality and propose where future development should occur.
  • Property Ownership: To better understand how development can occur within the municipality, it is important to review whether properties within the municipality are publicly owned, privately owned, or owned by the municipality itself.  This allows a better idea of where future development can occur in the future.
  • Existing Land Use: To understand how development and planning can change in the future, a review of current and existing uses for areas within the municipality is needed.  This map shows how the land within Denare Beach was being used in 1984 (i.e., residential areas, commercial areas, etc).
  • Proposed Land Use: Based on who owns the properties, and how they were currently being used back in 1984, the best estimation on how the land can be used in the future is outlined within this map.
