DEVELOPMENT PERMITS:
When landowners, residents, or developers want to build, alter or change the use of any development, a development permit application form must be submitted for approval before construction or the start of a new use. Applications can be dropped off in-person at the Northern Municipal Services office in La Ronge, mailed, or emailed to the Development Officer, Erik Trenouth. Upon payment of the processing fee, a decision on your development permit application will be sent to you. Decisions are based on conformance with the Zoning Bylaw.

Home-based business/Bed & breakfast operations: Home-based and bed and breakfast businesses are a discretionary use in the Lac La Ronge Planning Area and must be approved by the Clerk of the District. This application form can be filled in and submitted to Development Officer, Erik Trenouth.

While the Lac La Ronge Planning Area does not have a Building Bylaw or employ a Building Official, all property owners are legally responsible for complying with all legislated building, safety, accessibility and energy standards. Click here for more information on Codes and Standards.

- SAMA Municipal Data Collection Form: under subsections 222(1) and (4) of The Northern Municipalities Act, 2010, a building owner is required to submit any information requested by an assessor for valuation purposes. Failure to provide requested information will affect the property owner's right to appeal (subsections 223(1,5,6) The Northern Municipalities Act, 2010).
- Notice of Intent to Build: section 7 of The Construction Codes Act requires the owner of a building to be constructed/added onto to notify the municipality of certain information contained in this form.
