DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION:
When landowners, residents, or developers want to build, alter or change the use of any development, a development permit application form must be submitted for approval before construction. Applications can be dropped off in-person at the Northern Municipal Services office in La Ronge, mailed, or emailed to the Development Officer, Erik Trenouth. Upon payment of the processing fee, a decision on your development permit application will be sent to you via mail, email (if provided), or you can pick it up at the Northern Municipal Services office.

BEFORE STARTING ANY WORK:
If your application is approved and before starting construction, fill out the attached forms below and submit them to: NSADinfo@gov.sk.ca. The Construction Codes Act requires the information requested in the Notice to Property Owner form to be collected.

BUILDING STANDARDS AND LICENSING:
While the Lac La Ronge Planning Area does not have a Building Bylaw or employ a Building Inspector, all property owners are responsible for complying with building, safety, accessibility and energy standards.

SEWAGE HOLDING TANKS:
If you are replacing or putting in a new sewage holding tank or outdoor water systems, you will have to contact your local Public Health Inspector for regulation and inspection.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
- A special event is a gathering that lasts for a limited time period, and includes a private family occasion such as a wedding, or an organized public event such as a community gathering, festival or celebration.
- Special events are not regulated by and do not require a permit from Northern Municipal Services.
- The construction of any permanent buildings/structures on the event site does require a Development Permit from Northern Municipal Services.
- Signs are regulated in the LLRPA Zoning Bylaw.
- It is the responsibility of the event organizer to ensure all applicable healthy and safety regulations, bylaws, and licensing requirements are met.
- Concerns from the public should be directed to the event organizer.
HOME-BASED BUSINESS/BED & BREAKFAST PERMIT APPLICATION:
Home-based and bed and breakfast businesses are a discretionary use in the Lac La Ronge Planning Area and must be approved by the Clerk of the District. This application form can be filled in and submitted to the Development Officer, Erik Trenouth.
