Resort Subdivision of Ramsey Bay
Ramsey Bay is located on Weyakwin Lake and has a population of 159 (2021 Census)
TRANSFER SITE
Location:
The transfer site is located approximately 5.5 kilometres east of the subdivision.
Hours of Operation:
It is important to ensure that the brush at the transfer station is contained safely to help protect the community from wildfires. There are two brush piles on site; a resort subdivision brush pile for residents of the subdivision and a commercial brush pile for the campground operator. Further:
PUBLIC DOCK
On May 19, 2020, the Government of Saskatchewan announced the Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP), which provided funding to support infrastructure investments, stimulate economic recovery, and encourage local job creation due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
MEEP funding was allocated to the District, an incorporated municipality. The allocation was not designated for any specific community within the District. The selection of eligible projects was at the discretion of the municipal administration, in accordance with program guidelines.
Eligible projects under MEEP included recreation, culture, tourism, and sport infrastructure, including capital expenditures for marinas, boat docks, and boat launches. The District identified several shovel-ready projects that met the program criteria, including a dock at Weyakwin Lake to improve public access for permanent and seasonal residents, campers, day visitors, and other members of the public who use and enjoy the recreation area.
Consistent with the objectives of the MEEP program to stimulate economic activity while providing a public benefit, approximately $20,000 of MEEP funding was allocated to the dock project. No local municipal tax revenues were used for this project.
Today, the dock continues to be seasonally installed and removed at the public boat launch located within the Weyakwin Lake (Ramsey Bay) Recreation Site. This work is carried out by the campground operator to ensure safe public access to the lake during the operating season.

- Sunday: 10:00am to 3:00pm
- On long weekends, the transfer site is open on Monday instead of Sunday.
- May 1 to September 30:
- Wednesday: 10:00am to 3:00pm

- brush piles are to be located in a safe area within the transfer site that does not impact any area under current decommissioning.
- only trees, brush, or clean wood can be placed in brush piles.
- all items in the resort subdivision brush pile must be small enough to be moved with a bobcat.
- brush pile burns are to be done by their respective party.
- all brush pile burns are to be done in a controlled manner in accordance with legislative requirements and best practices. No burning will occur from April 1 to October 31.
